Hydraulic Forging Presses

Hydraulic Forging Presses

Starting at $6500.00 CDN

Edmonton Blacksmith Shop is designing and building custom hydraulic forging presses based on individual’s performance requirements.

Keep in mind – the most significant factor in this process is the electrical power supply available on site.

Your power supply will dictate variables such as feasible tonnage force and attainable cylinder rod extension and retraction speed.

Both C-Frame and H-Frame configured hydraulic forging presses are options, dependent upon which style is most appropriate for you.

Please feel free to give us a call at 780 499 3944 to discuss bringing to life your forging press.

Extra! Extra! You must read all about it.

Fresh off the press – The Knifenerd Guide To Japanese Knives.   We now have in stock this new book released by Kevin Kent, with exceptional photographic accompaniment by Visti Kjar.

They have brought to life this 312 page hard cover book, that is a beautiful homage to the art and craft of blacksmithing and bladesmithing.

This book covers various smiths, individual styles, knife care, materials, and equipment used in the process.  It also contains a well laid out section on metallurgy.

You don’t specifically have to be interested in Japanese knives to get a lot out of this book.  The information could be applied to any style of cutlery, or other blacksmithing endeavours.

The cost to purchase this fine book is $45.00 + GST, and would make an excellent gift for current or aspiring blacksmiths/bladesmiths.

Pot Racks

Customized pot racks are always a popular item at Edmonton Blacksmith Shop. This one we named the Syrenka pot rack,  after the polish mythic guardian.

Wedding Arbour/Trellis in use

Edmonton Blacksmith Shop Arbour

We provided this arbour/trellis as accoutrement for a wedding ceremony site.  The two day turnaround requirement, dictated that this was an entirely fabricated piece.  The special aspect of this project was that after the ceremony, a cedar bench seat was installed and the unit was relocated to the couples garden on their acreage.  They will always have this as keep sake of their special day, and a place of respite in their garden.

Here are some more photos.

Hammering out a draw bar

Power Hammer

These are especially exciting times for us here at Edmonton Blacksmith Shop, we have been working on and testing a power hammer we designed, that will be a regular production item for us.

The criteria for us was, design and build a pneumatic utility power hammer with premium durability and user ergonomics, while keeping it affordable for hobbyist and professional blacksmiths alike. That also means no expensive foundation required. A unit that wasn’t necessarily the most powerful on the market, but definitely not the least. A hammer to bring new found wonderment to the beginner, yet still put a fiendish grin on an experienced blacksmiths face. A hammer that if after years of steady usage required some refurbishing, the owner wouldn’t have to own a complete machine shop to work on it. This includes being able to make your own additional dies. Lastly provide western Canadian blacksmiths with easily accessible power hammers, meaning no major shipping costs, no US border issues, and dealing in Canadian currency.

Stay tuned!

Thank you and kind regards,
